Whip your morning into high gear with some delicious Dalgona coffee.

You've probably seen it all over various social media platforms when the viral beverage captured the hearts and mouths of people all over Tik Tok.  Whipped or Dalgona Coffee is one of the hottest new food trends and it's so easy to make that it's not surprising that it is popping up everywhere.  Dalgona coffee gets its name from the Korean candy that it looks like despite not having any of the candy itself in the drink.

All you need is 2 Tablespoons of Instant Coffee, 2 Tablespoons of Sugar and 2 Tablespoons of Hot Water.  You merely need to mix all three ingredients together, preferably with a hand mixer, to soft peaks and spoon onto your favorite type of milk.

Now, if you don't have a hand mixer, you can also whisk it by hand in a bowl or use a protein shaker, shaking vigorously until you get the desired consistency.  The reason this works components of the instant coffee and sugar form a rigid structure help trap air when being whipped to maintain its form (similar to how meringues and whipped creams work with the proteins and fat).

I prefer my whipped coffee with stiffer peaks as it brings about a soft marshmallow like texture and appearance that I really like.  It also allows you to style it a bit as well.  Due to how simple it is to make and the small list of ingredients.  This coffee is also very easy to customize.  For instance, in order to enhance the coffee flavor or make it a bit more intense, I used two tablespoons of brewed espresso liquid (See Below) by steeping ground espresso in hot water for a few minutes and passing through a small coffee filter.

You can use pretty much any hot water based liquids, including hot tea, coffee etc, to get the job done and it'll add flavor to the final product as well.  You can add flavored syrups such as caramel, vanilla and more, to the lightly beaten coffee as well before finishing to add flavor and color to the whipped coffee before you spoon it onto your milk.  Speaking of the milk, you can use any beverage you'd like really to mix things up such as chocolate milk (coffee enhances chocolate flavor so this is a good idea all around), iced coffee, tea or really anything you can think of to pour in a glass.  It's a fun and simple way to enjoy your coffee throughout the day to get your caffeine boost.
